Sometimes you may have a link that you want to add to your post or page on WordPress. If you type in the address word press will automatically embed the link into whatever you’re writing and pole a snippet of the article or website. Below is an example:
If you type the following URL into your document WordPress will retrieve a snippet of the article for you. Of course this can be turned off if it is not the desired behaviour

Post can also have a “featured image” which will be placed at the top of the post and also forms it’s thumbnail if you are looking at a list of posts.
Even though a post may only have one featured image. This does not mean that the body of the post cannot contain other pictures, you can have as many as you like but they will not show up as a thumbnail in a list of posts. This post has additional images.

After a certain date, a post will appear to disappear from public view. However the post is still retained within WordPress and can be brought back and any time. You can also choose to have a post never disappear from view.

Sample post 2
This is just an example post to demonstrate how a “post” works in WordPress. Unlike a “page”, posts can be affected by date in that they can be displayed only for certain time should you desire. Pages are permanent until you physically remove them from the site.

Had a healthy breakfast starting with a banana. Bananas are a great source of dietary fibre (promotes gut health), potassium, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin C. Also had some Nature’s Path Heritage O’s with Silk Almond (with Vanilla) drink: my “go to” breakfast.
We walked to Ayoub’s Dried Fruit and Nuts (2048 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver) to buy some dried whole fruits, organic dates and figs, and organic mixed nuts. What an interesting store, packed full of delicious healthy food. https://ayoubs.ca/
Here are a couple of articles about why these foods are good while cycling
Five fruits and veggies that will fuel you through any ride:

On the way to Ayoub’s my friend noticed that Sophie’s Cosmic Café wasn’t busy. She told me that she has wanted to go there for some time but it’s usually full and there is a lineup to get in. We stopped in to have brunch. Another reason she suggested this café is because she knows I like cafes that have the ‘60s feel. While waiting for our meals to arrive, I was able to walk around and check out old glass Coke bottles, pictures of movie stars from the 60s, and old license plates. Our meals were delicious and just what I needed to prepare for the upcoming ride on Thursday.
In the afternoon, we cycled over the Burrard Bridge. The City of Vancouver has an excellent site showing all the bike/walking paths. Vancouver is very cycle-friendly.

Once we got to the other side of Burrard Bridge, I took the bike path towards Stanley Park. It’s a beautiful area along Beach Avenue, past English Bay Beach (also called First Beach) and then to Stanley Park. It was along the beach area that I stopped to put my “wheel in the Pacific”, picked up some small rocks, and scooped up some Pacific Ocean water. (see pictures) My plan is when I reach the Atlantic Ocean, I’m going to do “wheel in the Atlantic” and drop the small Pacific rocks and water into the Atlantic Ocean.
The cyclists and their guests were invited for dinner at the home of one of the cyclists in Deep Cove (part of the District of North Vancouver). Their home is built in the mountain and overlooks the water and mountains. I loved the view! It was an enjoyable evening meeting all the cyclists (who will be on the Vancouver to Winnipeg trip) and their wives: the food was delicious and the conversation was interesting. We arrived back home around 10:30 PM. We cut up the dates, figs, other dried fruit (including banana chips) and some nuts (that I bought at Ayoub’s Dried Fruit and Nuts) and put them in small baggies so that I could grab a bag and eat the snack to get sustained energy when we were going up steep inclines over the next few days. We only included a few nuts in each bag because it’s hard for the gut to digest them when cycling up steep inclines.
